Hello everybody.
I have a Volvo V50, (M/Mw76/V50), 1.6d, 80KW, year 2006, engine D4164T.
I have some problems with the engine.
The faults codes in VIDA are:
ECM - 68BD Intercooler bypass throttle - Faulty signal
ECM - 9150 Inlet control valve - Signal too low
ECM - 6890 Intercooler bypass throttle - Signal too low
ECM - 9120 Inlet control valve - Signal missing
ECM - 688D Intercooler bypass throttle - Signal missing
The full body of this parts -Bypass air control valve + Throttle valve control unit - are new.
First time when the faults codes starts, the Volvo dealer check the wires, ground connections, fuses... and after that recommend to change the whole part.
After they change it, the fault codes come again. They change again the whole part in warranty, but again the same fault codes. At that moment they tell me that they believe is the ECU.
I send the ECU to BBA England to be check and they tell me that the ECU is fine.
Back to Volvo, they says that is the ECU.
Contact again the BBA England, they check again the datas and the ECU is fine.
I buy Power Probe Short Finder ECT2000 and it never show a broken wire.
I make measurements of the voltage/resistance of the wires of the valves and I have this values:
Measurements of voltage:
For the Bypass air control valve -- A14.4
pin #1 - 4.96 V
#2 – no wire
#3 - 3.2 V
#4 - 12.15 V
#5 - 0V
#6 - 0V
For the Throttle valve control unit A20.1
pin #1 - 4.96 V
#2 – no wire
#3 - 12.15 V
#4 - 2.77 V
#5 - 0V
#6 - 0V
Measurements of resistance:
For the Bypass air control valve -- A14.4
pin #1 - 1 ohm
#2 – no wire
#3 - 1 ohm
#4 - 1 ohm
#5 - 0.7 ohm
#6 - 1 ohm
For the Throttle valve control unit A20.1
pin #1 - 1 ohm
#2 – no wire
#3 - 1 ohm
#4 - 1 ohm
#5 - 0.7 ohm
#6 - 1 ohm
The engine is tremble like hell, but not slow /rare, more like shivering. And when it stop/shut off, it doing a post-combustion... is still rotate a few more time and finally stop with a very strong tremor / vibration. The acceleration is slow, it's feeling a lack of power and when I go over 3000-4000 r/min get dark smoke on the pipe.
I was to a garage and try to force the regeneration of the Particle filter but when start to accelerate, the engine start to move as if it had broken tampons/bumpers and the whole car start to tremble so they stop the regeneration.
If anyone has any ideas is more than welcome.
Thank you.

This error you have with
The engine is tremble like hell". You dont have this when the car starts cold ?.
On your dashboard - do you have the warning check engine light?.
I was looking if i could find something in the wiring diagram for your modelyear. Maby you can find some information or at least how the color wires go to.
http://volvosweden.se/articles.php?ar...cle_id=158 or this link directly to your year

There is some info at youtube on Bypass air control/Throttle valve control and some of the videos saying that the wiring can be the problem. I dont find any measure numbers for this. But if you find anything please write it here
.
Hope you understand my rusty english

Hello.
Do not worry, my english is also not perfect.
Yes, indeed, is it doing like this from the start of the engine, cold or warm, the same. And there are no warning lights on dashboard - no warning Check Engine Light.
Wiring diagram I use this one. .. ,, TP3990202 2006 S40 V40 Wiring Diagram"
On you tube there are a lot of videos but nothing helpful for me until now.
